Reverend Vaile Leonard is the founder and CEO of the Light of Truth Center, Inc. supportive housing for women recovering from drugs and alcohol in Baltimore, Maryland.  The Light of Truth Center Inc. (LTC) was incorporated in 1999 and opened its doors in 2000.  Rev. Vaile Leonard has been in long-term recovery for over twenty-five years and is a trained recovery advocate and certified trainer.  In 2008 LTC was selected by the Weinberg foundation for its leadership training program.  She is a successful graduate of the Weinberg Fellows program and graduated in 2008.  She completed and graduated from the Johnnie Coleman Theological Seminary with a Master Certificate, 1997.  She completed ministerial training at One Spirit Learning Alliance in New York City and was ordained as an Interfaith Minister in 2008.  In 2010 she graduated from One Spirit Learning Alliance after an additional two years of study as an Interspiritual Counselor.  She has been inducted as an honorary core member at One God One Thought Center for Better Living for her continued service with the multi-media department and the Family Recovery Ministry.     She was awarded the woman of the year in 2005 by Live Your Life on Purpose and was awarded a Humanitarian award in 2006 for Black Wall Street.  In 2008, LTC began a process to expand services and has successfully secured a 4032 square ft. building which houses an additional eleven women and includes a library, laundry, computer lab, study and hairdresser.  In addition to the permanent supportive housing unit LTC has secured an additional office building which will provide a place for treatment, training and employment of our women in recovery.  After several years of working on the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations Seal of Excellence Program (MANO), The Light of Truth Center Inc. was awarded the MANO Seal of Excellence for 2010.   In 2014, LTC again achieved the illustrious Seal of Excellence from the Maryland Non-Profit organization. In 2010 won the Ben Cardin Community Service Award. Vaile Leonard won the Weinberg Community Impact Award in 2011 won the Baltimore Times Positive People Award.  In April of 2015 Vaile Leonard was the Keynote speaker for Johns Hopkins SOURCE 10-year anniversary ceremony.  In 2016 the Light of Truth Center was selected to be a part of West Baltimore Rise.
