Brett Newberger is the President to Taurus CPA Solutions, LLC. He had previously been with Glass Jacobson since November 2001. He has over 20 years combined experience in public accounting and private industry. As a Partner at Glass Jacobson, Brett co-chaired the Accounting and Auditing Department and was responsible for the quality control of the firm’s financial statements. He also managed team work flow and ensured timely and accurate completion of engagements. Brett oversaw Glass Jacobson’s continuing education compliance and requirements.

Through his career in public accounting, he has proven experience in preparing financial statement audits, reviews and compilations, along with corporate and individual tax planning and preparation. Brett specializes in employee benefit plan audits and compliance. He also plays a key trusted advisor role with clients as a business consultant. Specific niche industries include manufacturing, distribution, professional services, technology and not-for-profit.

Brett is qualified to be a peer reviewer under the AICPA’s Peer Review Program. As a peer reviewer, Brett helps other firms achieve their accounting practice goals and enhance the quality of their practice under the profession’s self-regulatory efforts.

During his time as a Controller, he gained a wealth of experience with corporate cash management, payroll and personnel issues, financial budgeting, and banking relations. This experience has allowed Brett to foster stronger relationships and better with communication with his clients in public accounting.

Brett received his BA in Accounting from University of Baltimore and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the AICPA, MACPA, University of Baltimore Alumni Association, and is the Treasurer of the Pro Bono Counseling Project.
