Corae Young is the CEO for Young Consulting Services, LLC (YCS). Young Consulting Services’ purpose is to provide training, technical assistance, and interactive opportunities to support faith-based and nonprofit entities. For the last few years, YCS has assisted clients with filing and establshing IRS-recognized nonprofits, resource development, grant writing and program implementation, and training.

In 2021, Corae became a Certified Church Consultant through Church Consultation University with Thom Rainer. Corae has a double Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Sociology from the College of William and Mary, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from American University.

Corae Young also operates as the Chief Operating Officer for a human services nonprofit called LifeStyles of Maryland. The agency focuses efforts on serving the most vulnerable in the community, including those that are homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in Southern Maryland. Programs range from providing shelter services, street outreach, transportation, domestic violence, safe housing, health and wellness services and emergency financial assistance. Corae has been with the agency for 18 years and her primary responsibilities for the organization are drafting policies and procedures, supporting grant writing and program implementation efforts, partner development, and supporting the administrative and human resources functions of the agency.

In 2022, Corae was selected as one of the top 13 “Southern Maryland Women to Watch” by Southern Maryland News. Corae is the current Chair of the Maryland Balance of State Continuum of Care (BoS CoC), which promotes community collaboration to end homelessness and provides funding support for homeless service providers and housing programs in nine counties. She also serves in the following positions: Chair of the Charles County Homeless & Emergency Shelter Committee; Co-Chair of the Calvert Homeless Prevention Board; Co-Chair of the Charles County Family Violence Coordinating Council; member of the Charles County Advocacy Council for Children, Youth and Families. She is also certified to provide the Mental Health First Aid for Adults training.
