Mae has expertise in nonprofit management, international development, civic engagement, research, training and facilitation. She has worked at the community level with at-risk youth, immigrants and refugees. At regional and national levels she has had responsibility for nonprofit grant-making and program reviews with United Way and the federal Corporation for National and Community Service. Internationally she has advised on and promoted civil society and volunteerism for development on behalf of the United Nations Volunteers. Mae has a Doctor on Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Social Welfare from the University of California in Berkeley.
