Ms. Vaughn has been a servant leader in the business development space for several decades. You may know her work as the former Director of Community Engagement and Sponsorships at the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development for 17-years where she built a business model infrastructure but she can also be credited with contributions to the nonprofit-sector, small business community, and promoting affordable housing programs at the national and state level. Driven to empower others, her mission is to provide resources that educate the public, establish partnerships and community relationships that connect at a “grassroots” level of engagement; specifically, in underserved communities.
Kelly Vaughn has received the U.S. Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, Governor’s Citation, Housing Secretary’s Award, WETATi’s Leadership Award of Recognition, NAREB’s President’s Humanitarian Award and other recognitions by community partners for her extraordinary commitment to public service.
The Black Business Review recognized her as a person on the move. Recently, she placed third in the National Breast Cancer Foundation, “FAB over 40” campaign in her age group.
She attended the College of San Mateo, Howard University and TIUA School of Business, where she received an honorary doctorate degree in Business Philosophy. She is a Licensed Consultant, Standards for Excellence Institute, Certified Public Manager, University of Baltimore School of Public Policy, TIUA School of Business, Certified Coach in Entrepreneurship, Alumni of Iyanla Vanzant University, Leadership Prince George’s, Certificate in Event Management, Prince George’s Community College, Crown Financial Ministry Award of Certificate and WETATi’s Leadership Recognition Award.
