 Amanda Wright

Amanda Wright is the Assistant Director for the Office of Public Service and Outreach and the Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff. She has worked full-time with the University of West Georgia since 2013. Her duties include oversight and coordination of the West Georgia Non-Profit Network, Public Service and Outreach social media accounts, event planning and logistics, in addition to coordinating additional projects and programs within the Office of Public Service and Outreach. Amanda previously worked two years as the UWise Program Coordinator in the College of Science and Mathematics Dean's Office. Before becoming full-time, she worked one year part-time for the UWise program, recruiting freshmen students to UWG who aspired to major in STEM fields, and two years as a UWise student assistant and volunteer. Amanda is from Carrollton and holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of West Georgia and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University and is currently pursuing an Ed. D in Higher Education Administration from the University of West Georgia. She has also completed a certificate program from the Georgia Academy for Economic Development.     Amanda serves on the Advisory Committee for Partners Advancing Student Success (PASS), is a member of the HelpWest Employee Benevolence Fund Committee at UWG and is the Campus contact for the Census. Amanda has one daughter with her husband, Randall Wright who is a teacher at Mt. Zion Middle School, head varsity baseball coach, and a member of the varsity football coaching staff.
