Kim Jones has served as the Executive Director of the Nonprofit Village since May 2012 and has developed critical capacity building programs, expanded shared services, reduced debt and increased earned income, while creating a collaborative environment for nonprofit tenant members. She has more than 20 years of experience in national and international nonprofit program development with an emphasis on capacity building, cross-cultural communication, and strategic alliances. Prior to her appointment, she served as the Director of a county-wide youth workforce development program in Montgomery County Public Schools that became a national model, founded an international development nonprofit, and established an international fellowship department at the British Embassy. Working extensively with community-based organizations, she has helped launch several youth development programs, coordinated local partnerships, and assisted in creating financial development plans to help sustain very small charitable organizations. Kim has provided volunteer leadership to numerous community organizations as well as serving on the Board of Directors of nonprofits throughout the region. Kim holds a B.A. degree in Political Science from Spelman College, earned the CAE in 2002 and is a Certified Proposal Writer. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Montgomery History and is a long-time volunteer mentor with Community Bridges. Kim is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and is a 2004 graduate of Leadership Montgomery. Kim was named a Top 100 Women of Maryland honoree in 2019 as well as receiving the Distinguished Graduate Award from Leadership Montgomery.
