Linda became a consulting risk manager for nonprofits in 2019 following more than 25 years of cutting-edge private sector risk management and project management. She joined Risk Alternatives, LLC, whose mission is to make communities stronger by building sustainable, agile nonprofits at all levels, from the sponsoring foundations down to individual nonprofit grantees. She helps guide nonprofits to identify and manage their risks, address their most important challenges, and build a culture of continuous improvement. She provides risk management training, structured executive coaching, board training, and process improvement support. Linda spent more than 25 years of her career with Bechtel Corporation, which consistently ranks in the top half of the Forbes Top 25 Private Companies list. Linda was Corporate Risk Manager for the BSII Global Business Unit serving government clients, was a project manager with the cyber security group in corporate IS&T, and was the Project Risk Manager for such projects as a $15 billion proposed new nuclear project in the UK, and phase one of the $2.5 billion Dulles Metrorail extension in Northern Virginia. Linda has worked extensively in both US and international project contexts. Linda is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, bringing extensive knowledge of risk management and Lean Six Sigma to customers’ projects. She received her BA with dual majors in International Relations and Politics and a minor in Spanish from Lake Forest College.
