Marilyn has served as a nonprofit executive for nearly 30 years, currently as Executive Director of a federated system of 46 public libraries in Allegheny County. She is a licensed Standards for Excellence™ Consultant in Pennsylvania, has delivered governance training workshop and served as a peer reviewer. She has extensive experience in board and leadership development. In her role as a professional coach (certified through Duquesne University), Marilyn focuses on the nonprofit sector, coaching boards, board chairs, executives, and emerging leaders. She is also certified in conflict resolution and mediation. She has served as adjunct faculty in graduate programs at the University of Pittsburgh, as a guest lecturer in nonprofit management at Point Park University, and as a nonprofit consultant and coach through Robert Morris University’s Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management. Believing that “living” her work provides the best instruction, Marilyn has served on numerous boards including the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO), Literacy Pittsburgh, West Pittsburgh Partnership, and the Advisory Board for the Allegheny Regional Asset District. She holds degrees from the Universities of Virginia and Kentucky, is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh, and was honored as one Pittsburgh’s Smart Business award winners in 2016.
