Rob brings a broad range of experience to his work in the creation of strategic initiatives, as a writer, and as an instructor all of which are aimed at helping the people and organizations in the nonprofit sector articulate and achieve their goals.
Starting out in professional theatre at Circle Rep in New York City, Rob moved to Milwaukee to work with Milwaukee Rep as the Dramaturg. His decade long involvement in theatre also included serving with Capital Rep in Albany, NY, the MidWest PlayLabs in Minneapolis, and the National Endowment for the Arts and several state arts boards as adjudicator of playwright awards.
Later, Rob served as Executive Director of Future Milwaukee, the Milwaukee area’s oldest and most active community leadership development program. While there he was part of the team creating the Helen Bader Institute for Nonprofit Management at UW- Milwaukee. Later he served at BoardStar as the Board Placement Coordinator. Most recently, Rob served as the Executive Director of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee.
Rob has now returned to the role of consultant which he has done for more than 15 years. His focus is on Board Development, organizational and program development, and strategic planning. He has worked with agencies as large as the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and as small as Vital Voices.
Aside from his professional work, Rob is a Board Director for the Generosity Project, is a BoardSource Certified Governance Trainer, and is a newswire correspondent for the Nonprofit Quarterly.
