Duane Doxzen knows that healthy, well-managed nonprofit organizations help make strong and healthy communities. Duane regards productive collaboration between board, staff, volunteers, businesses, community partners, and other stakeholders to be a cornerstone of moving mission forward. Duane is well-known in the Mid-Maryland region, having spent two decades serving in various development, administrative, and education roles at several nonprofit organizations including the Historical Society of Frederick County (Deputy Director) and B&O Railroad Museum (Director of membership & Annual Giving). Duane is currently the Director of Development & Communications at The Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center in Frederick, Maryland. He is responsible for all aspects of fundraising and marketing for the Standards for Excellence-accredited organization. Duane also advances active partnerships between the organization and other nonprofits in the community, including Head Start of Frederick County, Arc of Frederick County, Alzheimer's Association, and Children of Incarcerated Parents Partnership, among others. Duane is a graduate of McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. He volunteers as a Peer Reviewer with the Standards for Excellence Institute, serves on the Scholarship Committee at the Community Foundation of Frederick County, and is President of the Mount Airy Christian Academy Athletic Booster Club.
