 Joy O’Neal

Joy O’Neal earned her MPA from UAB (nonprofit specialty) in 2010. She is a certified instructor through the Certified Horsemanship Association and is also certified through Greg Kersten’s OK Corral Series to provide equine assisted family counseling and teambuilding.

She is a member of the Association of Professional Humane Educators, ambassador of the Red Rover Readers program, representative of the Black Stallion Literacy Project, and serves on the Regional Leadership Council for Alabama Nonprofits and the United Way of Central Alabama's Visiting Allocation Team.   She was recently awarded the John Phillips award by the Greater Birmingham Humane Society for her work with Spirit of Hope Youth Ranch. 

Joy currently serves on the boards of The O'Neal Foundation, Spirit of Hope Youth Ranch, Hand-in-Paw, First Light, the Mustard Seed Society, and Campus Ministries at UAB.
