Lesley is CEO of Spokes, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing training, consulting and resources to help other nonprofits achieve their missions. Lesley brings unique perspective and hands-on experience with the challenges and nuances of nonprofit management to her training and coaching work. She began her career as a capital campaign development officer and grant writer for the California ScienCenter in Los Angeles and later moved to the other side of the funding table as the Community Relations Manager for Adobe Systems, Inc. in San Jose, where she was responsible for the company’s corporate philanthropy and community relations programs. After moving to San Luis Obsipo and taking a career hiatus to focus on her two young daughters, Lesley joined Spokes predecessor organization, the Nonprofit Support Center (NSC), as Regional Manager and was responsible for NSC’s training programs in Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo. When NSC faced impending closure, she led the process to redefine its business model, rebrand the organization and relocate its headquarters to San Luis Obispo County to become the organization now known as Spokes. Lesley earned her undergraduate degrees from the University of Southern California.
