The Standards for Excellence® Institute continues to build a national network of qualified consultants licensed to provide training, consulting, and support on the Standards for Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector. The Licensed Consultant Training is an exclusive, professional development initiative that gives independent consultants the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to work with nonprofit organizations across the country interested in learning about, conducting self assessments, implementing change, and becoming accredited in the Standards for Excellence Program.


YOU'LL LEARN:

  • Background on the importance of self-regulation for the nonprofit sector
  • Overview of the Standards for Excellence program and the specific content contained within the 67 guidelines of the Standards for Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector
  • Facilitation and training development to support program utilization in your practice
  • How to use take-home tools to help assess organizations in alignment with the code


WHAT'S INCLUDED:

  • Three-day in-person licensing seminar at The Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore in Baltimore, MD.  Tuition includes all-day beverage service, light breakfast, snack breaks, and lunch each program day and a networking dinner. (Please note that tuition excludes transportation and overnight hotel guest accommodations. Hotel rooms at The Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Baltimore can be reserved at $169 per night.)
  • Two-year license to provide Standards for Excellence consultation to nonprofit clients
  • Two-year membership to the Standards for Excellence Institute
  • Consultant listing in a searchable online directory (and individual profile page) on the Standards for Excellence Institute’s website, promoting your status as a National Licensed Consultant in all facets of Standards for Excellence code
  • The Licensed Consultant program is approved by CFRE International and provides 1.5 hours of fundraising content and 8 hours of non-fundraising content.
  • Access to training tools and knowledge base including:
    • Educational tools for all Standards for Excellence signature training programs including PowerPoint slides, curricula notes, and resource handouts
    • Educational Resource Packets (3 full sets of each of the 27 educational resource packets) (electronic copies) included free – additional copies available to purchase at a reduced rate)
    • 20 copies of the Standards for Excellence Codebook (additional copies available to purchase at a reduced rate)

TUITION FOR THE 2024 PROGRAM:

Standards for Excellence and Maryland Nonprofits members - $2,100; Nonmembers - $2,250. (Tuition fees do not include travel and lodging.)

Installment payment plans are available. A $150 discount is provided to individuals who are currently associate members of Maryland Nonprofits or the Standards for Excellence Institute. 

Some geographic locations are served by a licensed Standards for Excellence replication partner. The application form will prompt you to upload this letter.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY:

This year, the Standards for Excellence Institute is offering three partial scholarships to participants of the Licensed Consultant program.
