Dr. Teresa Titus-Howard has over 30 years of diverse leadership and management experience in non-profit, for-profit and government settings. Since June 2019, Dr. Titus-Howard has been the President and CEO of The Coordinating Center (The Center).
The Center is a non-profit organization with 300 employees who provide medical case management or coordination of community services for 10,000 children, youth, adults, and seniors with complex medical needs and/or intellectual or developmental disabilities across the State of MD. The Coordinating Center’s mission is to help individuals of all ages and abilities achieve optimal health, affordable healthcare, and meaningful community life.
Dr. Titus-Howard has extensive experience leading different public-private partnership or coalition building projects, committees, or councils. With the sole purpose of bringing together diverse stakeholders with different viewpoints to accomplish a common goal or vision to improve the health and well-being of others. Currently, she volunteers and/or leads several boards, councils, and committees such as Maryland Nonprofits Experienced CEO Roundtable (Chair), State of Maryland Department of Health – Health and Wellness Council (Chair, State of MD Secretary of Health appointment) and Case Management Society of America (CMSA) Rural Special Interest Group (member).
Dr. Titus-Howard volunteers her time serving as a mentor and executive coach for other non-profit and for-profit senior leaders. She is a sought-after speaker or consultant on topics such as strategic planning, culture, leadership, performance improvement and outcomes and other business operation topics.
She holds a doctorate degree in public affairs and administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas City – her dissertation focused on Public-Private Partnerships and Effective Coalition Building. She has a master’s degree in health administration and in social work from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Columbia College, in Columbia, MO.
In 2024 and 2022, The Maryland Daily Record honored Dr. Titus-Howard with the Most Admired CEO Award for non-profit organization a testament to her strong commitment to and demonstration as an effective servant leader. Dr. Titus-Howard has been married for 35 years, she has three children and four grandchildren, and enjoys all things outdoors, travel, music, and crafting.
