The Standards for Excellence Institute would like to congratulate The Training Source, Inc. for renewing their accreditation under the Standards for Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector.
Being accredited by the Standards for Excellence Institute demonstrates that the nonprofit has met the rigorous requirements that are included in the standards. Being an accredited nonprofit sets the organization apart as a top performer in the nonprofit field and lets all its partners (funders, community members, board, staff, volunteers) know that they can have confidence in the quality of its programs, its accountability and openness, and its commitment to proven practices.
The Training Source’s mission is to provide education, training and services that promote positive economic mobility. They serve Prince George’s County and DC-metro area’s most disadvantaged residents, including individuals who are low-income, unemployed, physically or intellectually challenged, returning citizens, at-risk youth, and dislocated workers. The Training Source provides comprehensive job training programs and certifications for job seekers, youth development programs, safety-net services for families in-need, and professional training for employers.

The Training Source’s Executive Director, Nekeisia Booyer, shared:
“The Standards for Excellence framework has been instrumental in strengthening The Training Source’s governance, operations, and accountability, particularly as we expand programs serving youth and adult learners in the DC area. The framework guided us in formalizing policies and procedures in areas such as board governance, ethical practices, financial management, and program oversight. By aligning with these standards, we have been able to create clearer internal processes, strengthen data integrity, and ensure transparency with our funders, partners, and program participants.”
Congratulations again to The Training Source, Inc. for this noteworthy achievement. They have earned the right to proudly use the Seal of Excellence, the symbol for excellence and transparency in nonprofit management.
