Jacinth Planer

Jacinth Planer is the founder of JTP Spectrum LLC, a consulting firm, and she is a director of Trellis Partners, a Maryland-based firm that provides management, leadership, and organization development services to nonprofits. She advises on fundraising, communications, and operations strategies and works with nonprofit executives to develop and strengthen overall program design, business systems, culture, and management + leadership. She brings a particular focus on nonprofit accountability, transparency, and effectiveness from her experience in investigative due diligence and journalism.     Jacinth has a background in journalism and experience from the nonprofit and private sectors. She has held positions with due diligence firms and international human rights nonprofits, including TDI Compliance LLC, Exiger Diligence LLC, Enough Project and Sentry at New Venture Fund, and Public International Law and Policy Group. She has launched and managed editorial programs and developed the investigative research capacity of multiple teams.

 

She has collaborated with these teams to produce congressional testimonies, memos, and reports for global investors, business leaders, and U.S. policymakers. She has also helped produce a book, legal briefs, and reports on international law, peace negotiations, and human rights. She has scripted and helped produce multiple documentary programs for CNN and CNN International and led the production of an award-winning documentary about a CNN camerawoman.     Jacinth began her career in journalism in college as a junior radio reporter in Senegal and was then a Fulbright grantee studying journalism and communication in Morocco before joining CNN, where she worked in the network’s documentary and investigative unit.
