Sharon Anderson is a skilled professional with experience in government, nonprofits, and associations. She is committed to building strong organizations and teams that make a difference.   Anderson & Associates, LLC offers personalized governance and management assistance to ensure that clients achieve improved operations and superior value.  Services focus on advocacy, governance, interim leadership, leadership training, and policy development.  Sharon is a BoardSource Certified Governance Trainer.  Anderson & Associates, LLC has offered a range of services to its nonprofit clients.  As the interim executive director of Court Appointed Special Advocates for the Children of DC, Sharon worked with the board of directors to develop stronger financial management controls and to institute greater community outreach for support. Sharon worked on a capacity building project for nonprofits in the District of Columbia; this project involved meeting with nonprofit leaders and identifying strategies for improving their operations.  Currently, Anderson & Associates, LLC is providing project management support to the National Museum of African American History and Culture as it prepares to open in September 2016.  “The Anderson Difference” is built upon Sharon’s range of work and volunteer experiences.  Sharon has worked in two mayoral administrations for Washington, DC.  She served as liaison to the governors’ offices of Maryland and Virginia and was the Interim Secretary for the District of Columbia.  For the National League of Cities, she managed the policy development process and then led the education and training office.  For four years, Sharon served as the volunteer president of the Pearl & Ivy Educational Foundation which awarded $100,000 in scholarships to District of Columbia high school seniors.  Sharon earned her Master of Public Administration at the University of West Florida and her Bachelor of Arts at Eckerd College.
