Mark is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) who partners with his clients in defining and pursuing their goals. Through mentorship and coaching he helps leaders, executives, and individuals seize their dreams. He provides a range of personal coaching and consulting services to individuals and organizations in the business, government, and non-profit arenas.

Along with his personal coaching, Mark leads organizations in producing focused strategic plans that include a step-by-step process for execution. Drawing from his diversity of experiences, Mark uses a variety of tools in his coaching and consulting practices to raise personal and group self-awareness and interpersonal interactions. Mark focuses on his clients, championing their agendas and helping them develop implementable solutions. Certified to deliver and interpret the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator and the EQ-i2.0, he excels in helping his clients apply this valuable tool in their professional and personal lives.

Prior to starting his coaching career, Mark worked as a civilian for the U.S. Navy for over 30 years, retiring as a Senior Professional in 2011. He retired as the Office of Naval Intelligence’s Director of Resources and Comptroller, concurrently serving as ONI’s Chief Financial Executive, and Head of Human Resources. He oversaw an annual budget of half a billion dollars and HR programs for a 3000 person organization. Mark was also a DAWIA Level III program manager. During his career he excelled at mentoring and coaching his employees. Upon retiring, he decided to pursue this very rewarding aspect of his job as a second career. He has helped numerous clients enhance their performance and careers and improve their job satisfaction.

In addition to his professional career, Mark has been involved in coaching youth sports for 40 years. Starting in 1972 as an assistant football and baseball coach, he has expanded his sports coaching experience to include coed soccer and women’s field hockey. He has served as both a head and assistant coach. He is currently the Director of Football Operations at Calvert High School in Prince Frederick, Maryland. Over the years he has learned the power of good coaching and how to use it to transform individual and group performance.

Mark is Director of the Eric and Cara Thorn Memorial Scholarship Fund, Vice Chairman of the Calvert Community Foundation Board, and has also served as a board member for youth sports and other community organizations.
