Carmen specializes in organizational transformation, board governance, leadership development, adult learning, performance improvement, and personal growth. She is passionate about helping others to embrace learning and transformation. As a consultant, Carmen has over 25 years of experience working with large, mid-sized and small organizations in both the nonprofit and corporate arenas as well as faith based organizations working with senior leaders and staff.  She is a Licensed Consultant of the Standards for Excellence Institute and completed The Art of Transformational Consulting.

She possesses the innate ability to help individuals and organizations identify and build on their strengths as well as set and surpass their goals. As a management consultant Carmen has helped employees get promoted, leaders and organizations grow, raise funds and create new products and programs to move them forward. As a senior executive in the nonprofit and corporate arenas, Carmen has created actionable systems that increase interoffice collaboration and profitability.

Marketing Communications Strategist.  For over 20 years, Carmen has worked with leaders and organizations as a marketing and communications strategist. Her portfolio includes marketing, communications, media relations, strategy, professional blogging, technical and speech writing for executive leaders. She writes and designs marketing materials, including newsletters, convention materials, annual reports and strategic plans.  Her clients lead at both the national and local levels.  As a consultant, Carmen has coached executives for broadcast appearances, topical presentations as well as sales presentations to corporate, nonprofit and grassroots audiences.

In addition to the traditional nonprofits, Carmen has worked extensively with faith-based organizations and provided training, program and organizational transformational, facilitation, presentation skills training, board governance, strategic planning, leadership development,

In addition, for ten years, Carmen worked as an executive in financial services. As a financial advisor she participating in financing of municipal bond transactions totaling in billions in the aggregate. Carmen attended the University of Massachusetts at Boston and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Southern University in Houston. Carmen is also a consultant for Maryland Nonprofits and a Standards for Excellence ® Institute licensed consultant.

Carmen is also the Executive Pastor of the historic Bright Hope Baptist Church in Philadelphia,  Pennsylvania (formerly led by the late Congressman William H. Gray III). She is the first woman to lead the congregation in 106 years.

She is also the former Executive Director of the National Black Media Coalition.
