 Ben Aase

Ben Aase is a Principal with CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA), and leads the Public Sector Group’s national K-12 Education and Consulting practices.  CLA is a professional services firm delivering integrated wealth advisory, outsourcing, and public accounting capabilities to help clients succeed professionally and personally.  Ben works with a range of foundation, nonprofit, and education clients nationwide to drive both organizational and field-wide change and results at the intersection of strategy, finance and operations. Prior to joining CLA, Ben helped start a company that provided outsourced accounting and financial advisory services to schools.  Ben is former board treasurer of the Givens Foundation for African American literature, and a founder of the Minneapolis Professional Chapter of Net Impact, a global community that empowers a new generation to use their careers to drive transformational change in the workplace and the world.  Ben is currently board treasurer of Impact Hub MSP, and is also a review board member for the Social Entrepreneur division of the Minnesota Cup, the largest state-wide new venture competition in the country that seeks out aspiring entrepreneurs and their breakthrough ideas. Ben has his B.A. in Economics from Colorado College in Colorado Springs and an M.B.A. with an emphasis in strategy, finance, and entrepreneurship from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.  Ben is licensed by the Standards for Excellence Institute to train, consult, and support on the Standards for Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector.
